Culture Shift Brand Kit

Culture Shift is a modern fermentation house: pantry, beverage, and preservation products shaped by live culture, time, salt, sugar, yeast, bacteria, and craft.

This repository is the source of truth for the Culture Shift brand system and production-facing concept assets. It is intentionally an image-first design/content repository rather than a software project, so it uses Git for change tracking and Git LFS for binary image assets, with no CI/CD unless a future asset workflow needs it.

Canonical reference

The brand system is anchored on one canonical generated board:

  • assets/mockups/generated/brand-overview-board.png

This board is not just inspiration; it is the required visual input for new generated assets. Do not generate new Culture Shift assets from text prompts alone. Pass the canonical board, plus any approved asset-specific references, into the image model so logos, labels, palette, product family, and presentation style stay coherent.

Image-first asset rule

Primary brand-kit assets should be image-model outputs, not hand-built SVG approximations. For every new asset set:

  1. Start from the canonical board as image input.
  2. Add any accepted layout/style references as additional image inputs.
  3. Save the exact prompt, reference list, output paths, model/tool notes, and review status under source/generated-prompts/.
  4. Save final image outputs under the relevant assets/ or products/ directory.
  5. Keep a contact sheet when there is a family of related assets.

The image generation workflow is documented in brand/image-generation-system.md.

Repository map

  • brand/ — strategy, canonical reference, image-generation rules, voice, color, typography, product architecture, applications, and production guidance.
  • assets/reference-panels/ — cropped panels from the canonical overview board for exact visual reference.
  • assets/logos/generated/ — raster logo exports with and without the title, horizontal/wide lockups, and reusable small-cap seal submarks, including PNG/WebP size variants.
  • assets/labels/generated/reference-examples/ — raster label reference example sheets for beverage bottles, jars, and sauce bottles.
  • assets/mockups/generated/ — generated brand/world images tracked through Git LFS.
  • assets/palette/tokens.json — structured palette reference extracted from the canonical board; use this as metadata, not as a substitute for image-reference generation.
  • products/ — product-specific generated assets, labels, contact sheets, and production notes.
  • source/generated-prompts/ — prompts, image-input references, generation manifests, and provenance notes for generated assets.
  • source/image-generation/ — helper tooling for image-input generation when the visible tool surface cannot attach reference images directly.

Brand idea

Controlled transformation. Culture Shift turns everyday ingredients into new behavior through fermentation: heat, fizz, funk, acid, sweetness, preservation, and time.

Working rule

Design should feel alive and experimental, but never sloppy. The system should hold sriracha, cider, beer, kombucha, makgeolli, cheong, lacto-fermented vegetables, vinegar, and seasonal ferments without looking like separate brands.
